WOMAN STRUCK BY VEHICLE EXPECTED TO BE OK
No charges to be filed against driver

By Jon Mayhew

LINCOLNTON –
A 33-year-old Lincolnton woman, struck by a car just before 9 p.m. Saturday, is expected to be OK.

Witnesses told Lincolnton Police officer D. Renn that Monica Littlejohn was running across the street from the Southern Convenience Store on Riverside Drive when she was struck by a vehicle.

“Witnesses indicated that the woman didn’t look in either direction when crossing the street,” said Renn. “Speed was not a factor in the incident.”

Renn said the driver won’t be charged. Littlejohn was transported by Lincoln EMS to Carolinas Medical Center – Lincoln then airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where a hospital spokesperson said Littlejohn was listed in fair condition.
