VALE -- More than 100 people enjoyed great dancing, a balloon drop and a fully-catered breakfast to ring in 2009 at Woodmill Winery.

Exclusive video on The Carolina Scoop shows the final seconds of 2008 and the first few seconds of 2009, including the balloon drop.

According to Woodmill Winery owner and operator Larry Cagle, it's the second year in a row the winery held a New Year's event.

"We had 40 people registered two days ago," said Cagle. "As of New Year's Eve morning, we have 100."

Cagle exclusively advertised the event in Lincoln County in The Carolina Scoop.

People from across Lincoln County -- and some from Catawba County -- made Woodmill Winery their destination of choice for New Year's Eve and part of New Year's Day.

People attending Woodmill Winery's New Years Eve celebration enjoyed great food, great music and a lot of dancing.

After the balloon drop, the crowd in attendance was treated to a fully-catered breakfast by Ryan's Steakhouse of Lincolnton.

It's one of two high-profiled events going on at the winery during the month of January.

The Carolina Scoop will provide exclusive coverage of the unveiling of a new blackberry wine 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24.

See the Woodmill Winery advertisement on the main page of The Carolina Scoop. For more information on the unveiling or on the winery, call Woodmill Winery at (704) 276-9911.
