LINCOLN
COUNTY -- The National Weather
Service has issued a wind chill advisory
3-9am Friday morning, as cold Canadian
air continues to pound Lincoln and
surrounding counties.
Overnight
lows are predicted to be in the teens;
meantime, highs are expected to be in the
lower 30s for much of the weekend.
Wind
chills are expected to be anywhere
between zero and five below zero.
"A
lot of people are going to be using their
wood heaters for the first time
tonight," said Emergency Management
Director Susan Spake. "It may cause
an increase in fire department
calls."
Spake
said her office is concerned when
firefighters respond to calls overnight
about the personnel being on scene.
"Water
may freeze in the hoses," said
Spake.
Lincoln
County Emergency Management recommends
bringing all pets and plants inside to
keep them from freezing.
Also,
keep a check on elderly neighbors during
the next few days and keep all space
heaters safely away from flammable
materials.
