FIGHTS POLICE, GETS TASERED

LINCOLNTON
A Lincolnton man fights police and
ends up getting hit with a taser.
The incident started
just after midnight Sunday at a residence
on Sherrill Avenue. According to officer
R. Harringtons incident report, he
responded to the call of a fight at Jimmy
Watts house.
Harrington said Watts
was yelling so loud at another subject,
that the officer could hear Watts cursing
and yelling from the street.
When Harrington first
approached Watts, Watts charged the
officer. Harrington pushed Watts back
with his hands and advised the suspect to
stay back.
Watts yelled an
expletive at Harrington, then charged him
again. Thats when Harrington
deployed his taser twice, for a total of
ten seconds.
Harrington then
advised Sgt. Jeremy Wilson and also
called Lincoln EMS per police department
procedures.
The incident report
indicated Watts was intoxicated at the
time of the incident.
According to the
departments Use of Force report,
Watts didnt require transport to
the hospital. Watts, 30, was charged with
assaulting a government official and
resisting arrest.
