ON WANTED SUSPECT

Authorities found Christopher O'Neil Smith hiding in a Laboratory Road residence's bathroom.

LINCOLNTON – Lincolnton Police officers received a tip over the weekend on a wanted suspect. They go to a residence on Laboratory Road and find Christopher O’Neil Smith hiding in the bathroom.

According to Detective Dennis Harris’ arrest report, someone called the Police Department to report Smith was at a residence in the 1500 block of Laboratory Road.

Harris, along with Canine Officer Brandon Hunsucker and Officer Billy Burgin, went to the residence where they found Smith.

Smith, 22, was charged with a felony charge of intimidating a state’s witness. He was taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. Smith will answer the charge in Lincoln County District Court on Monday.
