WOMAN STRUCK BY HER
OWN VEHICLE AT WALMART

By Jon Mayhew
LINCOLNTON

An elderly woman suffered a freak accident outside the front
doors of the Lincolnton Walmart Wednesday afternoon.

Lincolnton Police, along with Lincoln EMS and Lincolnton
firefighters, responded to 401 North Generals Boulevard to
reports a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

According to officer Dwayne McAllister, 71-year-old Lucille Beal
was exiting her vehicle at the front of the store.

Her husband, William, 70, accidentally pulled away before she
was completely out of the vehicle.

Fortunately, Lucille Beal suffered a few scrapes as a result and
refused transport to the hospital.

“She did fall down under the vehicle,” said McAllister.

The incident happened just before 3pm.
