LINCOLNTON
-- One prescription an emergency
room doctor wrote in Lincolnton Sunday
wasn't what was presented at a local
pharmacy; now, Lincolnton Police are
investigating a case of prescription
forgery.
According
to an incident report filed by Officer
David Mocanu, the incident happened
around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, as the officer
responded to the Walmart Pharmacy on
North Generals Boulevard.
The
prescription, written for the pain killer
vicodin, was written by emergency room
physician Dr. Donovan Thompson at
Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln.
The
quantity and strength of the medication
were altered before the prescription was
presented to be filled at the pharmacy.
No
arrests have been made in the case.
While
the person who the prescription was
written for didn't return to the pharmacy
to pick up the medication, a supplement
report indicated that two females
returned to the store to pick up the
prescription.
