MAN CHARGED FOR GIVING ALCOHOL TO MINORS

LINCOLNTON – A Third Street resident is charged for giving alcohol to minors.

Police first received a tip via the Lincoln County Communications Center that several males were blocking traffic in the middle of Third Street around 3:15am Friday morning.

Officer Richard Taylor located the males, with Taylor and Officer Brent Heavner responded to the scene. Two of the males told officers they were 16 and 17 years of age.

In talking to the teens, officers learned Jeffrey Allen Boyles, 28, had given them beer.

Boyles was charged with contributing to underage drinking and was given a written promise to appear in court August 5.



OTHER ARREST
--Victor Fletcher Cobb, 37, W. Congress Street, was arrested by Officer Tony Potts at the Lincoln County Courthouse on warrants. Cobb was charged with assault on a female and damage to personal property. Bond was set at $2,000 secured, which Cobb paid at the Lincoln County Magistrate’s Office.
