Two-Year-Old Child Dies from Injuries

VALE -- The Carolina Scoop has learned a 2-year-old Vale girl has died from injuries received in a tractor accident according to a hospital spokesperson at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte.

Detective Mark Stamey identified the young Hispanic female as Adamaras Garcia whose whose parents live on Lance Lane, Vale, NC

The young child was struck by a farm trailer attached to a farm tractor in an orchard at Davis and Son Apple Orchards on Highway 18 in western Lincoln County.

Investigators believe the tractor either slipped out of gear or was knocked out of gear causing the vehicle to roll backwards. The child was struck and knocked underneath the trailer.

She was transported by Med Center Air helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She remained in very critical condition at the Ricky Hendrick Centers for Intensive Care at Levine Children’s Hospital.

Investigation into the incident is continuing.
