Teen arrested for marijuana possession

A Lincolnton High School student is arrested for marijuana possession Tuesday night.

Officers were looking for suspects in another case when they came across Tony Bradshaw, 16, 2368 Arney Street, at the Petro Express on 2230 East Main Street.

Bradshaw told police he was waiting for a friend. After consenting to a search, police found marijuana in a cigarette box in the teen's back pocket.

Bradshaw was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Lincoln County Magistrate's Office, where Magistrate J. Dellinger released Bradshaw on a $500 unsecured bond.

The suspect then asked police for a ride home.

Bradshaw's next court date is set for April 20.
