TIP LEADS TO ARREST

LINCOLNTON Money is the
motivator for solving crimes in Lincoln
County with Crimestoppers and a tip has
led to an arrest and the recovery of
stolen items.
The tip led to an arrest of Kenneth Otis
Bethea Jr., 20, Hill Road, Lincolnton, on
February 20.
Detective Kelly Paris said the break-in
occurred at a Buffalo Shoals Residence
exactly one week before the arrest.
A 50 flat screen TV and a
Nintendo Wii gaming system was recovered
at a residence on East Highway 27,
said Paris.
Bethea was charged with breaking and
entering, larceny after breaking and
entering, possession of stolen goods, and
two counts of obtaining property by false
pretense, all felony charges, and one
misdemeanor count of injury to real
property.
The suspect was taken before a Lincoln
County magistrate and placed in the
Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a
$20,000 secured bond.
