ELLENBORO - Mr. Thomas Franklin Snelgrove, Sr., 67 of 236 New Covenant Way, Ellenboro passed away June 8, 2009 at Rutherford Internal Medicine.

Born June 8, 1942 in Dade County, Florida he was a son of the late Harry Richard Snelgrove and Garnet Bey Snelgrove. He was a delivery driver for Clark Brothers Die Service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and David Snelgrove.

Mr. Snelgrove is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra Lee Kesecker Snelgrove; a son, Thomas Snelgrove, Jr. and wife, Nina of Lawndale; a daughter, Christine Christakes and husband, James of Shelby; two sisters, Joanna Snelgrove and Alice Snelgrove both of Asheville; and seven grandchildren, Justin Beattie, Stacey King, Kassey Beam, Matt King, Mandy Christakes, Savannah Snelgrove and Emily Christakes.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday June 12, 2009 at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cecil Buff officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
