LINCOLNTON -- Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detectives have charged two teens with break-ins to Lincoln County businesses on May 1, 2008. Detective Sally Dellinger said the break-ins occurred at the Ranch House Restaurant and Hampton Wrecker Service, both on Reepsville Road in Lincolnton.

Detective Dellinger charged Joshua Nash Gardner, 17, of River Road in Lincolnton and a juvenile, who was 15 years old when the crime was committed, with two felony counts each of Breaking and Entering a Building and two counts of felony larceny.

Detective Dellinger said deputies chased a suspect vehicle, a pickup truck, which wrecked on the Startown Road and the men fled the scene. A car taken from a residence near the Startown Road was later found in Stanley. She received additional information about the suspects from Gaston County on July 24, 2008 and interviewed both suspects.

They were charged in connection with the break-ins and larcenies on Friday, August 1, 2008. Joshua Gardner is being held in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. The juvenile is being held in Gaston County. Additional charges against the two teens are expected to be filed in Gaston County.
