Teens Facing Charges In
Connection with Break-ins and
Larcenies in Four Counties

Sheriffs detectives have
charged two teens with break-ins
after they were caught Wednesday
morning in connection with
vehicles stolen from Iredell
County.
Christian Michael Moser, 18, of
7954 Barkley Road, Sherrills Ford
is charged with one count each of
Felony Breaking and Entering a
Building, Felony Larceny After
Breaking and Entering,
Misdemeanor Larceny and Felony
Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. He
was placed in the Harven A.
Crouse Detention Center under a
$10,000 secured bond and had a
first appearance in Lincoln
County District Court today.
Moser was apprehended along with
Brian Lee Harkey, 16, of
Stratford Lane in Denver. Around
7:30 a.m. Wednesday while
investigating a break-in at
Midway Marina, Catawba County
Sheriffs deputies using
information gained from the
owners went to an apartment
complex just inside the Lincoln
County line. They saw the suspect
at a car with the trunk open and
he ran inside his apartment.
Officers checked the vehicle and
discovered it was stolen from
Iredell County.
The suspect, Brian Harkey, ran
out the back door of his
apartment and it took officers
about 30 minutes to apprehend him
hiding in a wooded area. Harkey
was turned over to Iredell County
Sheriffs Investigators and
is being held in the Iredell
County Jail. Warrants have been
issued in Lincoln County charging
him with the same charges filed
against Moser. They are accused
of breaking into a residence on
Optimist Club Road on July 22nd
and with taking a vehicle on July
17th from Eddie Sharp Racing on
Denver Drive. Officers recovered
the 1991 Buick Regal. The teens
are also facing charges in
Catawba and Iredell Counties.
A total of six stolen vehicles
were recovered. The vehicles were
reported stolen from Mooresville,
Gastonia, Statesville, and
Catawba and Iredell Counties.
Officers also recovered property
from the break-ins in one of the
stolen vehicles. Investigation is
continuing by Catawba County,
Iredell County and Lincoln County
Sheriffs Offices in a joint
effort.
Lincoln County Sheriffs
Detective Darrell Hutchens said
additional charges would be filed
against the teens in connection
with other break-ins and thefts
in Lincoln County.
