TEENAGE
PEDESTRIAN STRUCK

[LINCOLNTON] A
15-year-old Lincolnton teenager is struck
by a car late Friday afternoon and is
taken to a Charlotte hospital.
Lincolnton Police officer Dan Renn
investigated the accident just before 5pm
on Highway 27 east.
According to Renn, the driver of the
vehicle was identified as Chad Francis
Smith, 39, of Love Memorial School Road.
He was traveling east on Highway
27, from Newbold Street towards Roper
Drive, said Renn. Neither the
driver or pedestrian saw each
other.
The pedestrian 15-year-old Gary
Paul Moose of Freeman Road was
standing in the center lane of Highway 27
and started crossing the road at the time
of the incident.
Moose was transported to Carolinas
Medical Center Charlotte with possible
life-threatening injuries. A condition
update wasnt available on Moose as
of early Tuesday morning.
