SECOND
VICTIM IN GLADDEN WRECK DIES
A second victim, pulled from a
vehicle that overturned in a pond on Gladden
Drive last Tuesday has died.
Taylor Peyton, 4, died Monday morning at
Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte according
to a hospital spokesperson.

Peyton, her brother John, and
their mother Chastity Spivey were pulled from the
vehicle by firefighters and neighbors after
Spivey lost control of her vehicle and ended up
overturned in a pond.
All three victims were flown to Carolinas Medical
Center. Spivey died last Wednesday and her
funeral was Saturday in Maiden. Taylor had
undergone several tests that indicated a severe
level of brain damage.
The Carolina Scoop learned Monday that Taylor was
taken off life support. Burke Morturary in Maiden
is serving the Peyton family.
John "J.P." Peyton, 2, is still listed
in critical condition in Charlotte.
