
SUV SLAMS INTO GUARDRAIL;
EAST NC 150 SHUT DOWN

PUMPKIN
CENTER -- Authorities were
called to a one vehicle accident that
sent two people to Carolinas Medical
Center Lincoln with non-life threatening
injuries according to Lincoln EMS.
A white
suv struck the guradrail so hard between
Lee Lawing Road and Mac Ballard Road
Friday night around 10:30 the impact
ripped the guardrail off its supports,
twisting the metal, and sending one of
the supports down into a ravine.
The
victims -- a 63 year old male and a 39
year old female -- were extricated by
Pumpkin Center firefighters and
transported. Medic said the victims are
expected to be OK.
Highway
150 was completely shut down for more
than an hour as the accident was
investigated by the North Carolina
Highway Patrol. The investigation
continued into how the accident happened
as of early Saturday morning.
