TEENAGER ARRESTED FOR FORGERY

LINCOLNTON – A Lincolnton teenager is charged with stealing and cashing a check at a local bank.

Tyler Straughan, 19, 1712 Salem Avenue, was arrested at the Lincoln County Magistrate’s Office and charged with felony forgery and uttering, as well as obtaining property by false pretenses and financial transaction card fraud.

He was taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $12,500 secured bond.

The victim in the case discovered one of the checks from her checkbook had been cashed for $150 at 5th/3rd Bank by the suspect at the end of January.
