LOOKING FOR "SQUEAKY" BANDITS
WD-40
taken from convenience store
By
Jon Mayhew (BOGER
CITY) -- Authorities are looking
for a pair of shoplifters who took WD-40
and fuel injection cleaner from a
convenience store after pre-paying for
gas.
The
incident happened Wednesday around
10:30am at the Times Turn Around on East
Main Street.
The
couple came into the store and within
minutes, an employee notied something in
the man's pocket according to responding
police Lt. Randy Willis.
"The
employee asked what the man had in his
pocket," said Willis. "He said
it was something he already came in
with."
The
employee, however, noticed the items
missing off the shelf and confronted the
suspects outside the store. There, the
employee found an empty can of Gumout, an
additive that cleans fuel injectors in
cars, and at least one can of WD-40.
"When
the employee told the suspects she was
going to call police, they took off in a
white SUV," said Willis.
The
couple had prepaid nearly $6 in gas. The
clerk stopped the pump at 21 cents. The
couple didn't ask for a refund of the
balance.
Willis
added the 47-year-old male suspect
normally comes into the store to sell
things to employees.
The
incident remains under investigation.
Value of the property taken is around $15
according to Willis' report.
