CROUSE
-- Two days after Southern Fiber

burned to the ground, the investigation
into what started the fire continues.
Lincoln
County Fire Marshal Mike Futrell said
Monday night his agency has stepped aside
in the investigation into the early
Sunday morning blaze.
"The
State Bureau of Investigation and the
Lincoln County Sheriff's Department are
investigating the cause," said
Futrell.

the blaze; one suffered a broken ankle,
while two others suffered minor injuries.

Neighbors
said Sunday the last person left the
facility around 6 p.m. Saturday night.
Initially, authorities thought a night
watchman may have not made it out of the
fire; however, nobody was at the facility
at the time the blaze started.
Firefighters
knocked on doors early Sunday warning
neighbors they may have to evacuate.
Ashes
could be seen in yards around the
facility. Sunday afternoon, as
investigators began their work, smoke
could be seen rising from what remained
of the facility.
