LINCOLNTON
-- It was a rough drive
for everyone Tuesday afternoon just before 3:30
p.m. An accident involving two vehicles and a UPS
delivery truck blocked the intersection of Sigmon
Road and North Aspen Street near the State
Employee's Credit Union.
A man driving one of the
vehicles involved told The Carolina Scoop he was
traveling south on North Aspen, heading towards
town, when the UPS truck appeared in front of
him.
"There wasn't time for
me to react, so I tried to go around him,"
said the driver, who was slightly injured but
mostly shaken up from the impact. In the process
of going around the truck, he sideswiped another
vehicle.

Authorities blocked the northbound
lane of N. Aspen Street while investigating the
accident.

The second vehicle struck the
UPS truck on the front passenger side. One person
in the second car suffered more serious but
non-life threatening injuries and was transported
to Carolinas Medical Center - Lincoln.
The driver of the UPS truck
wasn't injured.
Traffic was rerouted off
North Aspen Street through the parking lot of the
State Employee's Credit Union onto Sigmon Road.
Traffic traveling south on North Aspen was
rerouted through the parking lot of an old bar,
back onto North Aspen Street.
As of Tuesday evening, the
accident remained under investigation. Charges
may be pending in the accident.
