DID LINCOLNTON MAN FIRE SHOTS FRIDAY NIGHT?

By Jon Mayhew

LINCOLNTON -- Police are investigating a bizzare incident Friday night involving a hispanic male hiding in the woods.

Lincolnton Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of Green Street. They discovered spent shell casings of a .45 caliber weapon behind a residence on Huss Street.

According to the Lincolnton Police Department's incident report, the responding officer to the scene heard someone in the wood line behind the residence. With the protection of the public in the forefront of their minds, the oficers headed into the woods towards Davis Street without consideration of their own safety.

In the woods, officers located Sergio Bravo of 505 Huss Street.

Officer Richard Harrington cited Bravo for resisting; obstructing and delaying an officer for hiding in the woods and giving false identification to a police officer.

Bravo was released at the magistrate's office.

It's not known if Bravo fired the weapon.
