LINCOLNTON
-- Authorities are investigating
a shooting Wednesday night that sent a
22-year-old man to the hospital.
Just
after 10 p.m., Lincolnton Police officers
responded to 1021 Gaston Street, where
they found Anthony Robinson shot three
times. He was rushed to Carolinas Medical
Center Lincoln with gunshot wounds to the
face and neck.
Officials
with medic said Robinson was transported
to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte
with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators
had put crime scene tape around Edwards
residence and were investigating the
incident into the wee hours of Thursday
morning.
Lincolnton
Police Lt. Dwite Shehan said the
department is familiar with Robinson.
"I've
arrested him before," said Shehan.
Authorities
believe Robinson was shot on the back
porch. Investigators spent overnight
interviewing people who lived around
Robinson as to what they heard at the
time of the shooting.
