The Lincolnton Police Special Enforcement
Team (SET) served a search warrant
Thursday night at a Lincolnton residence,
finding a small quantity of drugs.
Around 7:30pm, the team made entry to a
residence at 111 Hubbard Street.
When the team first arrived to serve the
search warrant, they discovered two
suspects standing in the side yard. The
pair one of the suspects
identified as Jason McCoy Hawkins
was detained for questioning by
detectives.
As authorities searched McCoy, they
discovered a pill bottle with a small
amount of marijuana. McCoy, 109 Hubbard
Street, was cited for simple possession
of marijuana.
Authorities made entry to the residence
and when inside, another two suspects
were discovered and detained for
questioning as well.
Two more suspects were stopped in a
maroon Nissan Pathfinder that
investigators noticed when they first
arrived at the residence. The suspects
were searched and nothing was found.
The SET team searched the residence and
found a bottle of pills with different
pills inside, belonging to another
suspect. The pills have been sent to the
State Bureau of Investigation for
analysis to determine what exactly in the
bottle.
The investigation is continuing and more
charges are expected in the case.
