A Vale woman learned the hard way that
returning to the original scene of the
crime wasnt a smart idea after all.
Monday afternoon, Lincolnton Police
officers Ashley Boyles and David Mocanu
arrested Brittney Lingerfelt at Carolinas
Medical Center Lincoln for felony
prescription forgery.
Lingerfelt tried to use the forged
prescription at nearby Keever Pharmacy,
said Boyles, adding a doctor had written
the original prescription.
What made matters worse for Lingerfelt of
Houser Farm Road was she returned to the
hospital after trying to pass the
prescription. The report didnt
indicate what the prescription was for or
how the forgery took place.
While officers searched Lingerfelt, they
discovered she had a marijuana pipe with
a trace of pot inside, as well as rolling
papers. Lingerfelt, 19, was cited on the
drug possession charges.
The teen was arrested, however, on the
forgery charge and taken to the Harven A.
Crouse Detention Center under a $1,500
secured bond. She remained in jail as of
late Monday night after her bond was
surrendered. New bonds totaled $9,000.
