INVESTIGATING STOLEN CAR CASE
By Jon Mayhew
LINCOLNTON Authorities
are looking into an unusual case of a
stolen vehicle, after the vehicle is
reported stolen less than 24 hours after
the vehicle was involved in an accident.
First, Officer Mike Reep responded to an
accident around 9pm Sunday at the
intersection of South Aspen Street and
South Generals Boulevard.
A witness told Reep the driver struck a
sign, over passing a guardrail.
The witness said a white male got
out of the vehicle and into the vehicle
that was behind the driver, said
Reep.
During an investigation, Officer Reep
identified the driver as Johnny William
Rudisill of Lynch Road, Lincolnton. There
was about $3,000 damage to
Rudisills 1999 Chevrolet.
Around 2pm Monday, Officer Jimmy Barlowe
responded to Rudisill Transport on
Rocking Hill Lane, where Rudisill said
his vehicle was stolen from the parking
lot.
Rudisill said he came to work and
left his vehicle in the parking lot of
his business around 5am Sunday,
said Barlowe. He said he later
noticed the vehicle gone around 8am
Monday.
Barlowe added Rudisill told him that
Rudisill didnt know if the
vehicle was there or not.
One thing Rudisill did that Barlowe said
nobody should do is leave vehicle keys
inside the vehicle.
The keys to the vehicle were in the
center console, said Barlowe.
The investigation into the bizarre
incident is continuing according to
Officer Barlowe.
