DALLAS - Robert Henry Moore Jr., 62, of 1300 Egypt Court, Dallas, passed away at his home Friday, July 3, 2009.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Monday night at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia.

Mr. Moore was born Nov. 11, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry Moore Sr. and Margaret Law Moore. He was a truck driver in the concrete business.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Goude Moore of the home; three sons, Gene Cheshire Jr. and wife Dawn of Lincolnton, Darrell Cheshire and wife Shelly of Bessemer City, Chris Cheshire and wife Shannon of Statesville; two daughters, Cindy C. Pope and husband Wayne of Dallas, and Sonya C. Charles and husband Johnny of Mount Holly; three brothers, J.D. Moore, Gary Moore, both of Stanley, and Harold Moore of Lincolnton; two sisters, Linda Ward of Stanley and Becky Gullickson of Holden Beach; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Moore was a man who loved the sunshine and appreciated the rain. He loved to build, and everything he built was solid, especially his relationship with his family and friends. His humor was quick and his love was forever. "Carry-on" Dad till we see you again.
