CASE OF ROAD RAGE ENDS IN ASSAULT

By Jon Mayhew
LINCOLNTON

A 17-year-old Periwinkle Street man is assaulted in a case of road rage in the parking lot of the Raceway convenience store.

Steve Bridges told police he was sitting in his vehicle at the stoplight near the intersection of Huss and East Main Street. When the light turned green, there was a newer model Toyota truck with three white males inside that didn’t move.

Bridges blew the horn at them. The victim then pulled into the store. The red Toyota pulled in, and one of the Toyota’s occupants walked over to the victim’s vehicle.

The unidentified suspect then opened Bridges’ door, smacking him in the face.

The victim told police he didn’t know who the suspects are but believed they are in their early 20s.

Officer Brent Heavner responded to the victim’s residence to take the report around 7:15pm Sunday.
