NEWTON - Ricky “Rick” Howard Josey, age 57, of Newton passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1952 in Cleburne, TX. Mr. Josey was a 1974 graduate of Gardner-Webb University. He was formerly employed by Gold Toe of Newton and was presently self-employed as a videographer.
He is survived by:

Wife of 6 years: Martha VanSickle Josey of the home

2 Stepdaughters: Amy VanSickle of Kansas, Julie Newcomb and husband Don of Kansas

Step-grandchildren: Chloe, Penelope, Baylie, and Nehemiah Newcomb

Mother: Dorothy Josey of Maiden

Father: Howard Josey of Newton

2 Sisters: Judy Hastings and husband Ralph of Conover, Ronda Gantt and husband Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt of Forest City, NC

Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and extended family members

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church in Maiden with Rev. Pat Purdy and Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
