Authorities
Investigating Student/Teacher
Relationship

Lincolnton Police detectives are
investigating the possibility a student
and teacher at Lincolnton High School are
having an inappropriate relationship
after being notified by school system
officials.
Investigative Lt. Brian Greene
said Lincoln County Schools
superintendent Dr. David Martin contacted
police after receiving information from
the school about a possible sexual
relationship between the student and a
teacher.
Dr. Martin told police the
school system has conducted its own
internal investigation and determined
there have been inappropriate text
messages exchanged between the teacher
and student. No charges have been filed
in the case as of Friday.
Although the victims name,
address and age are public record under
the states Public Records Law, The
Carolina Scoop is not revealing the
information to protect the safety of the
victim. The teachers name was not
available in Lt. Greenes report.
Police are continuing their
investigation into the incident.
