What is "The Rant" you ask?
Things that need to be said,
that no one else will.

  • My mission this week is simple but also not a subject you will hear me talk much about. The shape of the nation as it has to do with politics and finances. If there is one thing we will probably all agree on, it's that we are tired, tired, tired, of hearing about the push in Washington and Congress over the Health Care bill. What bothers me the most is not whether it should or shouldn't pass......its that they just keep running their mouths but don't make a decision. DO SOMETHING! Anything is better than this. It's like a never ending nightmare of BS! Come on...we all know it's true. How many of you remember the Sprint/Nextel commercial from last year showing the firefighters running congress?? That's what we need. Someone to make a decision and move on to the next bill. This lollygagging around and whining about who is right and who isn't is ridiculous. How many countless hours of sparring over this thing have been logged on the major TV networks?? I would venture to say thousands. This has gotten way out of hand and it's time a final decision was made one way or the other. No matter what happens with it, someone's not going to like it, but nevertheless it still has to be done.

If it were up to me...I would put slick willy back in office. No, I am not a Democrat, so don't get too excited. Nor am I am Republican. As a matter of fact this statement has nothing to do with my political affiliation at all. The simple facts are this......no matter what were the past reasons or individual accomplishments of Bill Clinton as President, we, as a country had it made when he was in office. Period. Think back a little and remember again how things looked. Gas was dirt cheap, the market boomed, no major wars, employment was high, small businesses were springing up and many other things in this country were good. Yeah the man had a problem with the ladies.....so what! So did JFK for Gods sake! Things under JFK were pretty good as well. After all, if it weren't for JFK we may have been at nuclear war with Russia. Being that Bill is related to JFK by blood....I say it was just natural for him to be that way and to be expected. There are many things I look back on now in Clinton's Presidency with fondness. Especially as to how George W and Obama now reflect against him. Oh brother!! Neither of them so far for me hold a candle to ole' Bill. The one really BIG shining thing I see so clearly now is this. When Bill Clinton was President not only did we not have a federal deficit.....we actually had billions of dollars in surplus. That's right!! Money just sitting and piling up in the Treasury and in Fort Knox.
I miss those days! It's too bad the government decided many years ago now to limit the Presidential term to two. Before that was set FDR had been elected to an unheard of four terms in office. And thank God...because we needed him to lead this country through that terrible war. And he did. I don't know about you but I could use a couple more terms in office for Bill Clinton. Too bad for this country that option is now off the table.
