DENVER -
William Randall "Randy" Broome, 53, of 1749 Withers Drive, formerly of Mt Holly, died Aug. 7, 2009, at the Charlotte Health Care Cen-ter.

He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of William Andrew "Arnie" Broome of Mount Holly and the late Patsy Jones Broome.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Holly, where he was a member of the choir and was a former Sunday School Director and was co-chairman of the fellowship hall building team.

He was a longtime member of the Cowan's Ford Country Club, and was an avid Clemson fan.

In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Janet Rickman Broome; two stepchildren, John R. Hall and wife Jennifer of Belmont, Jacqueline Hall of Denver.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Aug. 10, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Mt Holly with the Reverend Kendell Cameron and Reverend Brian Childers officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the church and other times at 920 Pierce Avenue, Mount Holly.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, 300 S. Main St., Mt Holly, NC 28120.

Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly is serving the family of Mr. Broome.
