Rev. Ralph Alexander Shipp, 69,
of Denver, NC passed away at
Presbyterian 
Hospital in
Charlotte. He was born on
September 17, 1940 in Lincoln
County to the late John Cravor
“J. C.” Shipp and Mary
Ida Link Shipp.
He was the Minister of Rock Hill
United Methodist Church in
Stanley.
He is survived by his wife, Edith
Shipp of the home, three sons,
Dexter Cabbot Ross and his wife
Maria of Charlotte, NC, Sebastian
Cravor Shipp and his wife Sandra
of Morrisville, NC and Aaron
Alexander Shipp of Manhattan, NY,
three sisters Vaneva Shipp Graham
of Cornelius, NC, Loresa Shipp
Reinhardt and her husband John of
Claremont, NC, and Omega Grace
Hightower and her husband Ernest
of Charlotte, NC, two aunts,
Nannie Shipp Phroneberger of
Charlotte, NC and Mary Shipp
Bristow and her husband Willie of
Canton, OH, five nephews, one
niece and a host of great nieces,
nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be held Thursday,
February 11, 2010 at 3:00 PM at
Hills Chapel United Methodist
Church of Denver. The family will
receive friends from 6:00 –
8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 10,
2010 at Hills Chapel United
Methodist Church. Interment will
be at St. James Methodist Church
Cemetery. Reverend Dr. Valerie
Rosenquist and Reverend Robert
McDowell will officiate.
E. F. Drum Funeral Home is
serving the Shipp family.
