LINCOLNTON
Detectives from the Lincolnton
Police Department responded to 268
Policarp Street around 3pm today after
receiving a tip there was something
suspicious, possibly a meth lab, at the
residence.
Lieutenant Detective Brian Greene said
Detective Dennis Harris spoke to the
homeowner who told him the previous
resident had items stored under the house
and when he retreived the items he found
what he thought to be the workings of
part of a meth lab.
According to Greene, protocol is to
contact EMS, Fire and Emergency
Management. The SBI and the Lincoln
County Sheriff's Office were also
contacted.

"The
Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has
detectives certified to identify meth
labs", said Greene, "and they
confirmed this is a meth lab."
A search warrant, signed in Shelby, was
completed and authorities are currently
waiting on an SBI team out of Asheville
to complete the investigation.
The Carolina Scoop will have more on this
story when it becomes available.
