The Veterans of Foreign Wars of Lincolnton awarded the city, county and state law enforcement officers of the year award, as well as honoring the orgainzation's Veteran of the Year for 2008. From left to right, North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper Randall Neal accepted Brian Joines' award at the state level; 1st Sgt. Billy Brooks received the county honor, while Sgt. Willie Vaughn was named the city officer of the year. Jerry Bridges was named the veteran of the year. It's the 28th year the VFW has given the awards.
