Lincoln County Animal Rescue “Operation Noah’s Ark” Continues

More Animals Recovered Than Expected

Denver, NC – Lincoln County Animal Services says the final total is almost twice what they expected to find at a residence on Petite Lane Tuesday.

Animal Services Director Jack Kerley said the final total was 375 animals. That total included 160 large and small dogs, 40 cats, 100 rodents, 65 fowl and exotic birds and 10 livestock including horses, ponies, a llama and goats.

County employees, firefighters, rescue personnel and a number of volunteers are caring for the animals at a large warehouse facility in the Denver area.

Today volunteers continue to clean, bathe and feed the animals and are getting them checked in the mobile veterinarian lab out of Raleigh.

No charges have been filed as officials continued to focus on the well being of the animals.
