HOWARDS CREEK --
Many roads in North Carolina are paved with asphalt, while some roads remain gravel. The road to the Millennium Wrestling Federation's "Ground Zero" on July 12 is paved with sweat, emotion and rivalry.

The supershow promises not to disappoint; the sold-out crowd Saturday at the Howards Creek Vietnam Veterans Center witnessed the last explosive card before the big show.

MWF newcomer Nick James joined MWF Champion "Father" David Hayes and his Family after "seeing the light," where Hayes beat on the young James for several minutes before pinning him. Their presences would be felt later in the show, during the main event.

Fellow MWF newcomer "The Sensation" Marcus Hayes challenged North American Champion Mr. Badd and his manager, Trey Williams, to a "last man standing" match for the belt at Ground Zero.

"I want my shot at your title," said Hayes after a double-pinfall where Badd was ultimately declared the victor.

"The All American" Rob Deputy, meantime, made his presence felt more than once at the show Saturday night. After defeating Marwan in his regular match, Deputy briefly teamed with "Outlaw" Keith Matthews during a triple threat main event for the MWF tag team championship. Deputy, however, was accosted by Nick James and "Father" Hayes during the match, leaving Matthews without a partner.

Meantime, Sycho Supastar returned to action after being gone for a couple of shows and accosted "The Pacific Tsuanmi" Nave during the main event, brawling to the back and leaving Deathlock tag-team partner Pitt without his partner.

Audio Shotgun -- "The Queen City Classic" Chris Solar and "The Waco Kid" Adam Awesomeo -- retained the tag titles in the match after rolling up 350-plus pound "Alley Rat" Pitt to retain the titles.

After the match, "Outlaw" Keith Matthews demanded -- and got -- Audio Shotgun in a cage match for the titles at Ground Zero. The question looming, however, is who will partner with Matthews.
