LINCOLNTON
-- An incident report from the
Lincolnton Police Department sheds some
light on what happened prior to the Dec.
17 shooting of Magnolia Street resident
Anthony Robinson.
Four
days before Robinson was shot outside his
residence by Rahim Oates, Oates reported
an armed robbery to the police
department.
In the
report, Oates details how Robinson and
another man robbed Robinson of $120, then
kicked and punched Oates to the ground.
On
December 17, police said Robinson was
shot four times by Oates.
Oates

Charlotte. With information provided by
Lincolnton Police detective Sgt. Matt
Painter, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police
Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT)
took Oates into custody without incident.
"He
was asleep at the time he was
apprehended," said Painter, in
exclusive video on The Carolina Scoop
Wednesday.
Oates,
who had his first appearance hearing on
charges of attempted first degree murder
and assault with a deadly weapon with
intent to kill, inflicting serious injury
today (Thursday) remains jailed under a
