LINCOLNTON
-- A Lincolnton High School senior has
been approved for
admission to the Air Force Academy class
of 2013.
Through Nora Nordmark's appointment, she
is entitled to the equivalent of a
full undergraduate scholarship including
room and board, medical and
dental care and a monthly pay allowance.
The package is currently valued
at $403,000. Upon graduation, she will be
commissioned as a second
lieutenant in the Air Force.
Nordmark, who moved from Portland, Ore.,
to Lincolnton two years ago,
has been preparing for the Air Force
Academy.
"Nora's Air Force Academy nomination
is certainly well deserved," said
Garry Pratt, LHS Junior ROTC teacher.
"This honor not only validates her
existing talent but it substantiates her
future leadership potential and desire
to serve as an Air Force officer."
Nordmark begins six weeks of basic
training in June.
