NEW NORTH LINCOLN MIDDLE SCHOOL EARNS AWARD


ROCK FALLS, IL -- Matthews Construction Company was awarded runner-up in the American Buildings Company (ABC) Excellence in Deign Awards in the category of Government/Institutional Facility for the construction and design of North Lincoln Middle School. ABC’s Excellence in Design Award honors builders for their exhibition of innovation and distinction in design.

North Lincoln Middle School is one of few schools in the State of North Carolina that is a pre-engineered structure. Pre-engineered structures are most beneficial in the use of time in the construction process. The building process of North Lincoln Middle School lasted 14 months from ground breaking to finish, whereas more conventional methods would have taken longer and at a higher price.

For 17 years, the Excellence in Design Award has been highly anticipated among Builders, Roofers and American Buildings Company employees. Given annually, the competition is open to all authorized American Buildings Company Builders and Architectural Metal Systems Roofers. Winners are selected by a panel of judges from the architectural profession.

This year the judges chose from more than 220 entries to select the top three projects in each of the following categories: Agricultural; Church/Religious Center; Commercial; Retail; Government/Institutional; Manufacturing/Industrial; Office; Recreation; Roofing; Self Storage, Transportation; and Warehouse/Distribution--which then compete for the ultimate prize of Building of the Year and Roof of the Year.
