June is National Candy Month, and in the U.S., chocolate reigns supreme. There are nearly12-hundred firm, making chocolate products worth almost 15 billion dollars a year. Another 480 companies make non-chocolate confections worth more than six billin dollars annually.

     There are more than 34-hundred candy stores retailing these sweets to an American population that consumes an average of half a pound of candy a week.
