MWF CHAMPIONSHIP VACATED TWICE IN TWO SHOWS

HOWARDS CREEK -- Injuries continue to plague MWF superstars who happen to hold the "Big Gold Belt." First, it was "Father" David Hayes vacating the title at Ground Zero on July 12 due to an injury outside the ring.

Now, a medical procedure means that current champion "The All American" Rob Deputy has to give up holding the championship. At the July 26 show, Deputy told a stunned crowd he'd have to "sit on the sidelines" for about the next six weeks.

"I had a medical procedure," said Deputy at the beginning of the show, "I have to give up the title."

Deputy won the title via pinfall over The Psycho Supastar during a cage match main event at Ground Zero after Psycho won a battle royal earlier in the show to determine who would face Deputy.

While Deputy was addressing the crowd this past Saturday night, Psycho Supastar came out, thinking he was entitled to receive the championship.

"You should hand that belt over to me," said Psycho, who wasn't planning on what was about to happen.

Interim commissioner Chris Mellon rose from the broadcasting table and announced that the title wasn't going to be given to anyone.

He said that's not the way he's going to run the MWF.

"Where I come from, we don't just give titles away," said Mellon. "We earn them."

There's no word if the championship will be put up in a one-night tournament or decided by a battle royal.

Before starting his match Satrday night, Nick James told the crowd since he's the number one contender to the championship, he should be given the title.

"I am the Hardcore King," James said, as the crowd booed him. "That belt should be mine."

More than 130 people attended the Ground Zero supershow, which was held outside at the Howards Creek Veterans Center. A crowd about the same size packed the Vet Center this past Saturday night.

The next MWF show will be August 9. Doors open at 7pm with bell time one hour later. Tickets are $5 and children six and under get in for free. For more information, visit www.mwf-live.com.
