HOWARDS CREEK -- More
than 150 fans got a rare treat Saturday night at
the twice-per-month Millennium Wrestling
Federation Show; they got to witness the show
outdoors. It wasn't just any show the fans were a
witness to; it was the supershow known as Ground
Zero.
By the end of the evening, new alliances would be
formed; Belmont's "The All American"
Rob Deputy would win his first World
Championship; and fans would see the beginning a
new era in the MWF.
Fans were surprised at the very beginning of the
show when World Champion "Father" David
Hayes came out hobbling on a crutch and announced
he couldn't defend the World TItle against Deputy
due to a non-wrestling related injury. He also
vacated the World Title.
Before he could leave the ring, however, fnas
were stunned and surprised by the arrival of
former commissioner and current MWF owner Timothy
Longbottom. Longbottom's announcement also
stunned the crowd.
"I know things I've done in the past were
pretty bad, but I've changed," said
Longbottom. "I'm a different Longbottom, I'm
for the fans."
To prove his point, Longbottom ordered the World
Title be defended in the main event of Ground
Zero. However, he also ordered a battle roayl to
determine an opponent for "The All
American" in the main event.
Sycho Supastar, a former World and North American
Champion and World Tag Team Champion, won the
battle royal and faced "The All
American" in the main event.

After more than 15 minutes of action, Deputy
speared Sycho and pinned him to win his first
championship in the MWF. A tearful Deputy briefly
spoke after his victory.
"All I can say is, it's an honor," said
Deputy as he wiped a tear away.
It was also a big night for rookie "The
Sensation" Marcus Hayes. While the Long
Beach, NC, native lost in his effort to wrestle
the North American TItle from Mr. Badd and Badd's
manager, Trey Williams, he joined
"Outlaw" Keith Matthews in the tag-team
title match against Audio Shotgun to wreslte the
titles away from the young duo of Chris Solar and
The Waco Kid.

At the
beginning of the match, Outlaw told the crowd he
didn't know where his original partner, Hojo
Devlin, was; Hojo wasn't at the show.
"I guess I'm going to have to do this
myself," said Matthews.
Things weren't looking good for Matthews during
the match, as he was being double-teamed by Audio
Shotgun for part of the contest. Suddenly,
Timothy Longbottom arrived at ringside with
"The Sensation." After the odds were
evened by the arrival of the young rookie, the
Ruff Ryders were able to clinch a victory and the
tag team titles.
It's the first championship for Hayes. Both the
World and World Tag Team Title matches were held
inside a 10-foot-high steel cage.
The next MWF show is at the Howards Creek
Veterans Center on July 26. Admission is $5 and
kids six and under get in for free. Visit
www.mwf-live.com for more information. Doors open
at 7 p.m. and wrestling starts at 8 p.m.
