In conjunction with our current Depot art
exhibit Art of the Blue Ridge Realists,
artists Jack Greenfield and Scott Boyle
will discuss their artwork at the Depot
located at 205 West Main Street in
Dallas, on January 3, 2010 from 3:00 -
4:00 pm.
Jack Greenfield's watercolor paintings
are primarily landscapes with a strong
emphasis on realism. There is a sense of
nostalgia involved because many of the
scenes are of the vanishing rural south.
Because the artist is classified as a
realist he will talk on how watercolors
can achieve depth thru layered washes
along with strongly developed textures to
give life to
the painting.

Gaston
County Artist Scott Boyle will discuss
his artwork on January 3rd at the Depot
in Dallas.
Nationally known Gaston County Artist
Scott Boyle considers himself a visual
explorer of the effects of light upon the
landscape. He will discuss his approach
to capture the essence of beauty in
nature as we experience it in this life,
typified in his paintings of Crowder's
Mountain. Scott will share his ideas on
plein air painting and how he uses this
process to reinforce realism as well as
demonstrate his field easel and equipment
used outdoors. Scott Boyle website
