DENVER MAN KILLED BY CONCORD TRAIN

An East Lincoln man has been identified as the victim of a horrible train accident in Cabarrus County.

Concord Police identified the victim as 36-year-old Kevin Timothy Murray of Denver.

The incident happened Sunday morning at the intersection of South Ridge Avenue and Concord Parkway. Police said they didn’t know why Murray was on the tracks.

Concord Police captain Gary Hatley said Murray was crossing the tracks at the time of the accident.

“He had crossed one set of tracks, then proceeded to cross the other tracks,” said Hatley. “The engineer blew the horn and Murray looked straight at the train.”

Hatley said he believes Murray misjudged the speed of the train.

Authorities didn't perform an autopsy on Murray.
