Investigators with the North Carolina
Highway Patrol said a Sunday afternoon
motorcycle wreck injured a female rider
and started a brush fire in separate fire
district.
Troopers S. Boyles and J.M. Futrell
investigated the accident that happened
around 5:15pm on Highway 182 near Old
Lincolnton Crouse Road and Highway 27
west.
The impact of the crash brought power
lines down along Highway 182, which set
off grass fires on each side of the road.
While the accident was in the Crouse Fire
District, the grass fires were in the
Howards Creek Fire District.

Crouse
volunteer firefighters prepared a landing
zone across the street from the accident.
Lincoln
County Sheriffs Deputies had to
redirect traffic coming from Highway 27
onto Old Lincolnton/Crouse Road.
The woman hit a sign and fell off
the motorcycle, said Trooper
Boyles. Speed is a factor in the
accident, while alcohol wasnt
involved.
