LINCOLNTON -- Mrs. Mildred Catherine Lail Austin, age 91, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2009.

Her funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at First Baptist Church of High Shoals with Rev. Charles Ingle officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Austin was born September 2, 1917 in Henrico County, VA to the late Luther W. and Julie Ann Gilleland Lail. She worked as a spinner in the textile industry.

She is survived by a step-son, Jim Austin of Lincolnton; stepdaughter, Beth Beam of Lincolnton; a number of grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew.
