LINCOLNTON -- A Lincolnton man who plead guilty and served eight months in prison for breaking into Temple Baptist Church last July is in troube with the law again for breaking into a pharmacy Thursday morning.
Lincolnton Police arested Jamie Sutton, 34, Lincoln Street, after he was caught in front of Carolinas Medical Center - Lincoln.
Police Det. Chuck McGinley was on duty at the hospital when he answered an alarm call at Keever Pharmacy.
On his way to the call, McGinley said he saw Sutton heading up the road in a motorized wheelchair.
"When I got to the alarm call, I called another officer to look for Sutton," said McGinley. "He was found in front of the hospital with an undisclosed amount of money."
Sutton was taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center in Lincolnton under a $22,000 secured bond. He was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen property and damage to property.
It's the third pharmacy break-in over the last couple of weeks.
Sutton plead guilty to breaking into Temple Baptist Church in the early morning hours of July 25, 2007. The church caught fire and burned down.
Sutton was not charged with setting the fire that destroyed the church.
