ONE PERSON KILLED AT MOTEL

GASTONIA -- An overnight shooting at a Gastonia motel leaves one person dead and authorities searching for a suspect.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. at the Microtel Inn on Broadcast Street near Highway 321.

Despite lying to The Carolina Scoop and saying "everything was quiet" during early morning phone calls, The Carolina Scoop learned of the incident just after 7 a.m.

Police said they have no suspect or victim information at this time, that they're "not allowed" to give any information oveer the phone, despite perviously doing so to the contrary.

The investigation continues. A motel employee said the shoiting happened outside of the motel.
