LINCOLNTON - Mickie Thompson Rowland, 77, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at her residence.

She was a native of Gaston County and daughter of the late Apheus and Mary Powell Thompson. She was a member of Holland Memorial Baptist Church, Bessemer City.

A funeral service will be held 11am, Tuesday at Holland Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. James Sawyer and Jerry Millwood.

Interment will be at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Greene Funeral Service West Chapel, Gastonia.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law, James Richard "Rick" and Donna Jones, Gastonia, William Keith "Bill" Jones, Kings Mtn., David Allan & Kim Jones, Lincolnton, Christopher Todd, Daytona Fl., daughter, Connie Thompson Price, Kings Mtn., brother, A. W. Thompson, Bessemer City, sister and brother in-law, Polly and James Harrison, Bessemer City, 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Emmett Rowland, brothers, Gordon Patrick Thompson, Everett Thompson of S.C., sister, Frances Louise Thompson.

Memorials may be made to Holland Memorial Baptist Church 123 Holland Memorial Church Road, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
